I took this shot of the group starting to climb to the top of a Sedona mesa to find Robber’s Roost -- a cave-like formation with a natural circle
window in the rock wall. L to R: Jessi (who is PG), Terese, Tara, Kathy, Fletch, Victoria, Lynette, Bob, Terry, Eric.
Eric took this from a distance. Although it
doesn’t look difficult, you must walk a very narrow ledge to get to the cave. One slip and there’s little chance you could survive the fall.

A closer look.

Here I am trying to coax Tara to slide down from above, but she feared if we slipped, we might have rolled right off the mesa. She ended up having to walk the ledge to get to the cave.

Inside the cave with Victoria and Eric.

Tara and I in the cave, sitting in the circle window that looks down on the valley below.

Outside the cave with Tara, Kathy, Lynette and Terry.

Back at the vehicles. Tara checking out Jessi’s stomach. She is pregnant and due in early December. It’s going to be a boy.

Howahkan (his name means ‘voice of the great spirit’ in Sioux) accompanied the group but could not be trusted on the ledge to get to the cave.

After the climb with Jessi and Terese -- Jessi’s half sister.
